Understanding STOP THE BLEED®
STOP THE BLEED® is an initiative launched in 2013 after tragic mass casualty events, such as the Sandy Hook school shooting and the Boston Marathon Bombing. It emphasized the critical need for immediate bleeding control. Facilitated by the American College of Surgeons, this initiative led to crucial changes in EMS and law enforcement protocols, focusing on providing care for victims suffering from blood loss as soon as possible.
