Diamode is used as an anti-diarrheal and to slow the pace of digestion so that the small intestines can better absorb liquid in the small intestine to stop diarrhea. When taking Diamode, you should be sure to drink enough liquids and it may take up to 48 hours for it to take effect. You should use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
When you have diarrhea, your bowel movements (stools) are loose and watery. While it is not usually serious, it is not comfortable. For many people, diarrhea strikes once or twice each year unless they have certain conditions, such as irritable bowel syndrome. Some possible causes are:
- Alcohol abuse
- Food Allergies
- Diabetes
- Diseases of the intestines (such as Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis)
- Eating foods that upset your stomach
- Bacterial Infections
- Laxative abuse
- Medications
- Overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism)
- Running (Some people get “runner’s diarrhea”)
If you have concerns about this or any other medical condition, you should contact a doctor immediately. A doctor can give you a recommendation for an over-the-counter medicine such as Medique Diamode or other treatment strategies to help you to cope.
